The Letter F, Fondue

Big F, little f what begins with F? Fondue! Kids and adults alike love a good fondue. It's like having a party and you can do it anytime, it's also the only time my son will eat broccoli. This is one of our favorite fondue recipes, it's easy to make and makes a lot.

1/4 C butter

1/4 C all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt, optional

1/4 tsp ground mustard

1/4 tsp pepper

1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1-1/2 C milk

2 C (8 oz) shredded cheddar cheese
Bread cubes, ham or beef cubes (cooked), carrots
, broccoli florets, cauliflower

In a small saucepan, melt butter; stir in flour, salt if desired, mustard, pepper and Worcestershire sauce until smooth. Gradually add milk. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Reduce heat. Add the cheese; cook and stir until cheese is melted.
Transfer to a fondue pot or 1-1/2-qt. slow cooker; keep warm. Serve with bread, meat, and vegetables.

Yield: 2-1/2 cups.
